On 2nd October the special train of Eisenbahnfreunde Witten will leave Köln central station at about 6:30 a.m. heading towards Würzburg (Main). We´ll start our journey travelling through the Ruhr district passing Oberhausen, Essen and Witten. Following the winding valley of the Lenne we´ll drive through Siegen and reach Aschaffenburg, located in the franconian part of Bavaria. After that we´ll proceed our journey driving on the well known “Spessartrampe”, the gradient between Laufach and Heigenbrücken, followed by the valley of the Main , finally reaching Würzburg at 1:00 p.m.

In addition of several memorials of art and culture we are looking forward to excellent wine and the famous franconian cuisine. In the old part of Würzburg there are a lot of cosy pubs and restaurants inviting for lunch. For all of you loving trams: You have the opportunity to discover Würzburg by tram.

Some words regarding our train: The comfortable wagons are out of the 50s, the restaurant car offers warm and cold dishes. You may also order snacks and cold or hot drinks to your seat.
